Annual Surrey Development Conference 2026

Wednesday 4 November 2026 | Hilton Woking

The Surrey Development Forum Annual Conference returns this November, bringing together senior figures from local government, development, planning, infrastructure and the wider built environment for a day of discussion, insight and networking.

This year’s conference comes at a significant moment for Surrey, as the county prepares for major changes to local government and the transition to two new unitary councils.

Throughout the day, speakers and panel discussions will explore what these changes mean for planning, housing, infrastructure, investment and growth across Surrey, alongside some of the wider challenges facing those responsible for delivering development.

What to expect

The conference will provide an opportunity to:

  • Hear directly from senior local government, planning and development figures
  • Understand the implications of local government reorganisation for Surrey
  • Discuss the opportunities and challenges facing development and infrastructure delivery
  • Hear perspectives on planning, viability, housing and investment
  • Connect with developers, housebuilders, investors, consultants, councillors and officers from across Surrey and beyond

Confirmed speakers include Graham Stallwood, Chief Executive of the Planning Inspectorate, alongside senior representatives from Surrey local government and the development sector, with further speakers to be announced.
